Kit Component Parts
A component change in an STC® or STC/MS™ unit may lead to revised instructions for teachers and/or students. Until the unit’s printed materials are revised and reprinted, new kits or new refurbishment sets purchased from Carolina will include an errata sheet(s). The errata sheet provides new teaching instructions and, if necessary, revised book pages to be photocopied for teachers and students. Here’s a list of some recent kit component changes and associated errata sheets now on Carolina’s Web site.
 

	STC® Land and Water - fine-grain sand has replaced diatomaceous earth. More information
	STC® Measuring Time - wooden clock escapement pieces have replaced the plastic ones, and the clock escapement design has been revised slightly. More information
	STC/MS™ Catastrophic Events - the map “Earth’s Fractured Surface” has replaced “This Dynamic Planet.” More information (PDF)
	STC/MS™ Earth in Space - large metal washers have replaced sand used in part of Inquiry 14.1. More information (PDF)
	STC/MS™ Energy, Machines, and Motion - rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries and battery charger have replaced the rechargeable alkaline batteries and battery charger. More information
