Rover Sundials
Extend student learning during Lessons 2 and 3 of Measuring Time by having students research the sundials, known as MarsDials, aboard the Mars rovers. Although sundials are simple in concept and design, the device on the rovers is a more complex version that not only tracks the apparent motion of the sun on Mars, it also adjusts the colors of the rovers’ panoramic cameras.
