Stunning images from the Red Planet were frequent
news items earlier this year, after the successful landing
of NASA’s Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity.
The rovers carry a range of complex, high-tech equipment,
but each vehicle also includes one of the simplest
scientific devices ever created: a sundial. This provides a
great current-events connection to the STC® Measuring
Time unit.
