To Help You Implement STC®
Although STC unit kits include the
materials and information you need to successfully present each lesson,
Carolina provides a number of additional support services for customers.
In-service workshops
We highly recommend participatory
preservice training sessions, in which teachers work through activities in the
unit with experienced trainers who have used the materials in the classroom. We
offer 2 basic options for teacher training.
- We can provide customized professional
development to meet your unique needs. In addition, you may purchase the
training materials at a discount.
- We will provide workshop outlines if you
decide to conduct your own training. We also offer a one-time discount on
materials used for training.

Customer service
All Carolina customers have their own
customer service representative, determined by state, to meet their specific
needs. To place an order for any STC item, or to ask a question about an
existing order, call 800-334-5551 (8 am–8 pm
Eastern Time).
Kit refurbishment
Most hands-on science kits, including STC units, include consumable and
non-consumable items. Some items need to be replaced each time a kit is used.
Others will last longer and will only need a yearly replacement. A small
quantity of non-consumable items may need to be purchased to replace lost or
damaged materials. How will your kit’s consumable items be replenished (or
replaced) after the kit has been used?
Carolina offers several STC refurbishment options:
- purchasing an economical STC
refurbishment set
- line-item ordering in small quantities
- line-item ordering in bulk quantities

option that best fits your needs or want more information about line-item

manager.

Technical support
With Carolina's technical support staff, you have access to knowledgeable
professionals with expertise in many areas of the sciences. Call

STC product or provide additional information.
Teacher resource videotapes
Carolina has developed teacher resource videos to accompany all STC units. In
each tape, an STC master teacher demonstrates how to set up and use the
materials in the unit’s kit. Interspersed with the teacher demonstrations are
classroom scenes showing students engaged in unit activities. A tape is included
in the kit for each unit, plus the tapes are available separately for purchase.

Quarterly newsletter
During the school year, Carolina publishes
STC Update, an informative publication for users of the STC
curriculum. In its pages you will find helpful classroom management tips from
STC teachers and other professional educators, ideas for extending STC units,
announcements of new products and changes to unit materials, and more.
