STC PROGRAM Update

Fall 2006

In the natural world, fall is a time when some plants and insects near the end of their life cycle. But in the academic world, fall signals beginnings—new school year, new classes, new students. And Carolina is keeping pace, with a new curriculum Web site, new curriculum catalog, and new instructional resources for STC PROGRAM™ users.

Check out Carolina’s new Web site devoted solely to curriculum: www.carolinacurriculum.com. It’s a great resource for learning about and purchasing the science, math, and literacy curriculum materials offered by Carolina. Visit often because information and special features are added frequently.

Also newly available is Carolina's first K–8 curriculum catalog, with the hands-on science and math instructional tools you need. If you haven't received your Carolina™ Curriculum catalog in the mail, request a copy.

Then read the articles included in this issue of STC PROGRAM Update to learn about new instructional resources and kit component changes.

As always, if you have a question, suggestion, or idea about the STC PROGRAM™ curriculum or this newsletter, let me know.

Thanks,
Cindy Dillon

A Perfect Pair

Some things just go together. Like peanut butter and jelly. Movies and popcorn. Science and reading. Maybe you think that last duo doesn’t fit.  But science and reading are a perfect pair when science activities encourage students to read. Carolina now offers a variety of literacy resources that help teachers seamlessly integrate science and language arts.
