The American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides over $80
billion in federal funds to help schools stabilize budgets
and invest in programs that improve the quality of
education. The federal government has already distributed
most of the funds and will offer the remaining funds within
the next two years. Since the federal funds run out so
quickly, it is important that schools invest in programs
that are proven to promote immediate and continued success
in the classroom.
Carolina™ provides a multitude of curriculum and
supplemental resources that align with the objectives set
out by the ARRA. These objectives include:
| • |
Improving results for students, including students in poverty, students with disabilities, and English language learners. |
| • |
Increasing educators’ long-term capacity to improve results for students. |
| • |
Advancing state, district, or school improvement plans and the reform goals encompassed in ARRA. |
| • |
Investing funds that serve as “bridge funding” to help transition to more effective and efficient approaches. |
| • |
Fostering continuous improvement. |
