Students use their senses and simple tests to classify common solids and liquids in this physical science unit for grades K-2. Over the course of the unit students will group solids according to color, material, shape, ability to roll, and any other quality students can think of. Students will test how liquids flow and mix using simple tests on common liquids.
The STC Program™ is a basal, inquiry-based science curriculum for grades K–10 that covers life, earth, and physical sciences with technology. STC™ was developed by the National Science Resources Center based on research into how students learn best. The NSRC was established by the National Academies and the Smithsonian Institution.
